The specification specifically excluded the use of Flash so a very creative CSS and DHTML solution was called for. The client provided Illustrator files for the design of the site which then had to be carefully converted into a format suitable for web use.The site required a showcase for their products which needed to be available to purchase for both domestic and international orders and automatically calculates delivery charges from a vast array of shipping options based on the size, weight and destination of the basket contents. The use of PayPal to accept credit cards was also specified by the client to complete the online shopping experience. Content Management: A custom MySQL and AJAX based Content Management System was developed to provide the client with the ability to update and manage all aspects of the site including the text, image and product placement across the entire site.
