The European Commission has now approved the policy regulations to make it possible for the EU to have its own top-level domain (.eu)
The idea for a dot-eu address was first floated in 2000 but it has taken a considerable amount of time for the whole process to get underway. We now expect the first dot-eu domains to be in use early 2005 and hope to sell them as soon as they are available.
More information about the domain's progress is available in a recent article from the International Herald Tribune and the English language policy regulations [pdf] are available direct from the European Commisions web site. |
